Rapid Signage Delivery for Inner West Council Speed Limit Rollout

Project Overview

In June 2026, HIVIS delivered a large-scale signage supply program for Inner West Council, supporting the rollout of reduced speed limits across the Local Government Area.

The project required the rapid manufacture and supply of more than 1,100 compliant sign panels, along with over 400 galvanised signposts and associated fixings. Delivered within a concentrated three-week window, the program supported Council’s speed-management strategy across residential streets and high-activity areas.

With tight delivery timeframes, high production volume and strict compliance requirements, the project demonstrated HIVIS Group’s ability to scale quickly, maintain quality and support time-critical public infrastructure programs.

Project Objectives

Inner West Council required a reliable signage supplier capable of delivering a complete package within a short timeframe.

The key objectives were to:

  • Support Council’s reduced speed limit rollout across the LGA
  • Manufacture and supply a high volume of compliant road signage
  • Meet a compressed three-week delivery program
  • Provide panels, posts, brackets, fixings and installation-ready components
  • Ensure all signage aligned with AS1743, AS1744 and TfNSW requirements
  • Coordinate staged deliveries to support Council’s installation schedule

The project required more than production capacity. It required accurate coordination, clear communication and disciplined quality control across every batch.

Scope of Works

HIVIS manufactured and supplied a complete signage package ready for installation by Council’s crews and contractors.

The scope included:

  • 1,100+ compliant road sign panels
  • 400+ galvanised signposts and associated fixings
  • 60NB posts cut to length and pre-drilled
  • Brackets, anti-rotational hardware and installation accessories
  • Batch-coded production for asset tracking
  • Staged deliveries to Council depots
  • Packing and documentation to support efficient installation

By supplying panels, posts and hardware as a complete package, HIVIS helped reduce installation delays and simplified the coordination process for Council.

Manufacturing & Delivery

To meet the accelerated program, HIVIS mobilised additional production capacity across its manufacturing facility.

The team implemented extended shifts and parallel production streams to ensure the signage could be manufactured, quality checked, packed and dispatched within the required 21-day window.

Each component was prepared with installation efficiency in mind. Posts were cut to length and pre-drilled, fixings were supplied as part of the full package, and deliveries were staged to align with Council’s rollout schedule.

This allowed Council and its installation teams to receive signage in a structured, ready-to-use format, reducing time on site and supporting a smoother implementation process.

Quality & Compliance

All sign panels were manufactured using long-life, high-visibility materials suitable for urban road environments.

Production was completed in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and project requirements, including AS1743, AS1744 and TfNSW specifications for road signage layout, durability and reflectivity.

Posts, brackets and fixings were supplied to meet Council and TfNSW requirements, supporting long-term performance across high-traffic residential and urban areas.

HIVIS also applied batch coding to support asset tracking and inventory management, giving Council clear visibility over the signage supplied throughout the program.

Coordination & Communication

Given the scale and speed of the rollout, communication was critical.

HIVIS maintained regular contact with Council’s project team, providing production updates, delivery schedules and rapid responses to scope adjustments as the program progressed.

This helped Council coordinate installation crews, manage inventory across depots and maintain momentum during the rollout.

The ability to communicate clearly and respond quickly was a key part of keeping the project on schedule.

Project Outcome

HIVIS successfully delivered more than 1,100 sign panels and over 400 signposts and fixings within the required three-week delivery window.

The signage package was supplied ahead of installation deadlines, helping Inner West Council implement its reduced speed limit program on schedule and with minimal disruption.

Council benefited from:

  • One supplier for panels, posts and fixings
  • Fast delivery across a high-volume program
  • Consistent quality across all manufactured signage
  • Installation-ready components
  • Clear communication throughout the project
  • Reliable support for a major road safety initiative
