SCHOOL IS SAFER WITH HI-VIS PEDESTRIAN DETECTION SYSTEM
Location: Canowindra
Client: Cabonne Council
Safer Pedestrian Crossing
A Canowindra Pedestrian Crossing adjacent to a primary school was seen as potentially dangerous and required improvement. The crossing was on a verge which meant through traffic, including large trucks, had little time to slow down on approach to the crossing.
Several initiatives had been trialled with little success. It was identified an early warning system was required to give drivers more warning and therefore more time to slow down to a stop when children and adults were crossing.
Hi-Vis developed a Pedestrian activated warning system consisting of LED Flashing and Illuminated Pedestrian Crossing signs installed on both sides of the crossing.
To date, the local residents have been very pleased with the results achieved.
