Hunter based national sign company, Hi-Vis Signs & Safety, has won the major award of Hunter Manufacturer of the Year at the recent Hunter Manufacturing Awards Inc held on Friday 19 October 2012 at Wests, New Lambton. The judges commended the company, founded in 1959, for their achievement of continuous improvement and excellence across its operations. The judging panel said, “Hi-Vis demonstrated a culture of continuous improvement and can clearly demonstrate its aim to achieve excellence across its operations.

Hi-Vis is a prime example of a company that has been an active participant in the Hunter Manufacturing Awards over many years and they have not given up. They have taken on board the judges’ feedback comments each year to improve and have now reached the point where they have ‘nailed it’.”Examples of this commitment included a Business Management System with ISO accreditation for Quality Systems, Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Management.

Hi-Vis has also invested heavily in the most technologically advanced digital printing and cutting equipment in the Southern Hemisphere and this year was appointed a 3M Master Converter, the highest accolade for a sign company from a major global supplier. Brett Watson, Hi-Vis Managing Director said, “We are very proud to have won this award and also the Excellence in Marketing award this year. We aim to be at the top of our game by continually trying to improve on all our systems and procedures. By investing in a great team of people and the latest technology, Hi-Vis has been able to work within different market sectors providing a full 360 quality signage service to our customers.

Our special thanks to the HMA board and judging panel for their continued support and encouragement.”Hi-Vis also took out the Excellence in Marketing Award again this year after the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing campaign with a well considered familiarisation program into the commercial sector. The combination of traditional techniques and electronic distribution modes increased both revenue and customer base, judges said.
